SUMOLOGIC
I joined Sumo Logic as a Lead Visual/UI Designer in the small, yet growing UX team. The organization was in a phase of scaling and innovating on a product that already had a dedicated user base.
User Interviews & Journey Maps
In order to help with this, the UX team realized that we needed to empathize and understand our users and their many touch points with Sumo Logic. Myself and a few members spent a few months interviewing customers via Skype calls, visiting them on-site, and sitting in on Sales Engineering calls. What transpired was a collection of data, focused personas, and a org-wide initiative to create vetted User Journey Maps that would help define the strategy and vision for the next generation of Sumo Logic.
Metrics - Search Queries
Sumo Logic provides users a powerful way to digest, analyze, and understand their data. Part of that experience is empowering the users to search and drill down to specific instances in a format that they're comfortable with. I worked closely with the team to brainstorm and design a robust yet simple way for the users to formulate queries on their data sets. My responsibilities also included building and documenting the interaction details, creating prototypes, and testing.
Sumo Logic Styleguide
As Visual/UI Lead, I led and managed the Sumo Logic styleguide. Our goal was to update the current experience, while balancing consistency, innovation, and scalability (with our vision and end users in mind). The team and I built an online repository that was accessible company-wide. The documentation and close collaboration with cross-functional teams increased implementation speed, as well as adoption.
